Gold coin chervonets (10 rubles) Russia – Sower

1,200.00

The “Sower” gold coin is considered the first coin of the Soviet era, as it was issued as an alternative to the then-obsolete tsarist money. The new currency was intended to promote a lifestyle distinct from capitalism, which necessitated the development of new coin and banknote designs. Gold Chervonets were intended to feature images of representatives of the working class or peasantry. Minting of the new gold coin began in 1923 at the Petrograd Mint. Today, it can be viewed not only as a historical artifact but also as a profitable investment.

The obverse of the coin features the coat of arms of the RSFSR and the inscription “WORKERS OF ALL COUNTRIES, UNITE!” The reverse depicts a peasant sowing a seed against a backdrop of a plow, a rising sun, and factories, along with the coin’s denomination and year of issue.

We have two coins in good condition from different years of issue – 1976 and 1981. Please indicate the year you are interested in when placing your order.
