Commemorative coin issued in honor of the centenary of the Finnish National Ballet. Swan Lake, which premiered on January 17, 1922, was the first production of the National Ballet, founded in the same year.
The obverse depicts the powerful and free movements of the dancer, covered with light flowing fabric, emphasizing the smoothness of the dancer’s posture. Around the circle there is an inscription in two languages “100 years of the Finnish National Ballet”. The reverse depicts a piece of fabric symbolizing free and expressive movement. Also indicated is the denomination of the coin, the issuing country and the letter “K” for ”Kukoistus” (Magnificence).
