This is the third and final coin in the “Knights of Malta Past” series. A series of unique coins refers to the traditions of the Order of Malta and its fate in the history of Europe.
Obverse: a knight in richly decorated armor, guarding the freedom and unity of Europe. Behind it lies the watchtower of Valletta, as well as Fort St. Angelo at Birgu, which was the headquarters of the Order during the Great Siege of Malta.
Reverse: the coat of arms of the Central Bank of Malta on a shield held by a Maltese knight.
