HMS Belfast is a famous Royal Navy light cruiser that participated in World War II, the Korean War and the Cold War. Built between 1936 and 1938 and named after the capital of Northern Ireland, the ship entered service in August 1939. In November of the same year it was hit by a mine and was under repair for over two years. After reinstatement, he actively participated in military operations and was mustered out of the service in 1963. Today HMS Belfast is a museum on the River Thames in central London by Tower Bridge.
