Coin 5 pounds Great Britain 2025 – Tudor Royal Beasts: Royal Panther
€24.00 includes 22% VAT
Celebrating the heraldry and history of the Tudor period with a contemporary design, Royal Tudor Beasts is a new collection from the Royal Mint. Heraldic beasts are part of the history of the monarchy, a tradition of lineage and strength on the battlefield that goes back centuries. Inspired by this long tradition, the royal beasts stand guard over the moat at Hampton Court Palace, representing Henry VIII and the mighty Tudor dynasty.
The seventh coin in the series is dedicated to the Queen’s Panther.
Commissioned by Henry VIII, the queen’s ferocious panther stands on Mote Bridge at Hampton Court Palace as a heraldic supporter of Jane Seymour. The heraldic panther is depicted as a formidable creature with a fiery breath that only a dragon can resist. Unlike Seymour’s panther, the Queen’s panther holds Henry VIII’s coat of arms, which bear the grant of the Enhancement crest.
