Macau has two official banknote issuers, each with the same denomination but different designs. One banknote is issued by the Bank of China, and the other by Banco Nacional Ultramarino.
These are commemorative 10 patacas banknotes issued in Macau to celebrate the Chinese New Year in honor of the Year of the Horse.
The obverse features the traditional horse symbol—a symbol of energy, forward striving, and nobility. The design incorporates elements of Chinese symbolism and national ornamentation.
The reverse side features an image of the Macau casino-hotel complex, emphasizing the city’s status as a cultural and tourist center.
