Roll 2 Euro Malta 2026 – Valletta

The third coin in the “Maltese Fortified Cities” series is dedicated to the country’s capital, Valletta. The city was named after the knight and naval commander Jean Parisot de la Valletta, who defended the island from the Turks in 1565. Valletta is renowned for its mighty bastions, Baroque architecture, and numerous historical monuments, leading to its historic center being included on the UNESCO World Heritage List and considered one of the most impressive fortified cities in Europe.

The obverse of the coin features a panoramic view of Valletta’s fortified bastions, ramparts and iconic architecture, with the inscription “VALLETTA MALTA 2026”.
