Samogitia is a Lithuanian ethnographic region.

The inner disc shows a bear standing on its hind legs with a chain collar around its neck. It has been depicted on the coat of arms of Samogitia since the 16th century. The bear is located on a shield topped with a crown. On the left is a knight (a symbol of courage, sacrifice and patriotism), on the right is a goddess with an anchor (a symbol of hope). The inscription on the tape below: PATRIA UNA (“ONE FATHERLAND”, lat.). The name of the issuing state “LIETUVA” is engraved on top along the edge of the disc. At the bottom – the name of the ethnographic region “ŽEMAITIJA”. There is also the year of issue of the coin “2019” and the mint mark.
