Coin set – Transnistria

The first coins from Transnistria.

Transnistria is a self-proclaimed state

on the border of the Republic of Moldova between the Dniester River and Ukraine.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union

she declared her sovereignty,

which has not yet been recognized internationally.

After the banknotes of the Transnistrian ruble

were put into circulation in 1994,

the first coins were not minted until 2000.

This is the complete first set of Transnistrian coins.

The obverse features the national coat of arms.

On the reverse, the denomination of the coin is surrounded by ears of wheat

or laurel branches.
