The obverse features a richly detailed national coat of arms.

The unusual composition includes a coconut palm,

several animals, European knight’s helmet

and the deep Latin phrase “Finis Coronat Opus” (“The end crowns the work”).

The reverse of the coins depicts a mud crab,

cassava plant, yellowfin tuna, Seychellois black parrot,

Triton’s trumpet and another coconut tree.
