The series of coins “Red Book” is dedicated to animals, birds, insects and plants that are considered rare or endangered. Thus, the Central Bank draws attention to the problem of their maintenance and restoration, environmental protection and nature conservation.
The Red Book coins have been minted since 1992 in various denominations and from various materials. So, from 1992 to 2007, silver coins with a face value of 1 ruble were issued. And, starting from 2008 and until 2019 – with a face value of 2 rubles.
The 2022 set consists of 3 silver coins.
1) Incised violet (lat. Viola incisa) is a plant of the violet family. An endangered species. In Russia, it is found in Siberia, in the Primorsky Territory and in the Amur Region. Inhabits short-grass steppes, develops well near abandoned paths, near molehills. The main limiting factor is excessive pasture load.

2) White-tongued dandelion (lat. Taraxacum leucoglossum) is a plant of the Compositae family. An endangered species. Found only in Russia. It grows on the seaside rocks of Cape Turii in the Tersky district of the Murmansk region. Inhabits southern slopes in rock crevices and depressions between rocks filled with fine earth, on narrow ledges. The population occupies a limited area, stretching for about 100 meters along the coast. The limiting factor is a narrow ecological amplitude. The entire territory currently occupied by the species is part of the Kandalaksha Reserve, which quite reliably guarantees the safety of the population.

3) Double netting (lat. Dictyophora duplicata) – a fungus of the veselkovy family. Rare view. On the territory of Russia, it is found in Moscow, Kirov, Kaluga, Belgorod, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and Amur regions, the Central Black Earth Region, the Republic of Adygea, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the Republic of Khakassia, the Republic of Buryatia, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk and Primorsky Territories. It lives in deciduous forests on soil rich in humus, or on heavily decomposed remains of wood. Limiting factors have not been studied.
