€45.00 includes 22% VAT
Phoenix is revered as an ancient symbol of happiness and harmony. According to tradition, it is rarely seen, but for those lucky enough to witness its appearance, it is believed that the phoenix portends prosperity.
The coin depicts a phoenix which, according to the ancient Chinese lexicon, is a fusion of several other birds, including the head of a pheasant, the body of a mandarin duck, a peacock’s tail, a parrot’s beak, and the wings of a swallow. In its beak is the flower of the paulownia tree (Adam’s tree), which is said to be the only species that the phoenix can sit on. Also included in the design are stylized images of clouds, symbols of abundance and good luck.
