€44.00 includes 22% VAT
This silver koala coin marks the 18th release of the Perth Mint’s famous silver koala coin series. Because of its annually redesigned reverse, this is one of the most popular Perth Mint series among collectors. . Although often referred to as a bear, koalas are not bears at all, they are marsupials. Koalas climb trees and have a pouch to carry their offspring, similar to kangaroos. An herbivore distinctly native to Australia, a koala eats plenty of eucalyptus leaves. Because this plant is normally toxic, koala’s bodies consume a large amount of energy to process it. This is why koalas often sleep during the day and can only stay awake for two hours. Sadly, this animal is greatly affected by deforestation, wildfires, and the effects of climate change.
The coin depicts a koala on a eucalyptus branch.
