The new issue of the lunar series minted by the Royal Australian Mint is dedicated to the Rabbit. After the tiger, the bull and the rat, the rabbit is the fourth animal in the Chinese zodiac. The reverse depicts a rabbit surrounded by flowers. Above it is engraved “Year of the Rabbit”, the Chinese character for “rabbit”, weight and metal. The obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth surrounded by a circle of the lunar calendar with all 12 animals. It also shows the denomination and year of issue.
