DC Comics (founded in 1934 as National Allied Publications) is one of the largest and most popular comic book publishers. The abbreviation DC took over from the publisher’s most popular Detective Comics series and soon became the official name of the company.
The coin series consists of 18 coins. The first coin is dedicated to Batman. Batman is one of the most popular and famous characters in comic books. First appeared in Detective Comics issue #27 in May 1939. Almost immediately after his appearance, Batman found popularity; less than a year later, he got his own comic book series of the same name.
