Silver coin 10 hryvnia Ukraine 2023 – Women defenders

The coin is dedicated to Ukrainian women. Ukrainian women dispel misconceptions and support the defense at the front and in the rear: they fight, work, feed, volunteer, pray, wait, love, protect their families and their homeland. When the war began, Ukrainian women took on the enormous responsibility of defending their homeland while simultaneously being wives, homemakers, and mothers.

Obverse: in the center there is a symbolic composition reflecting the courage, love of freedom, sincerity, tenderness and care of Ukrainian women, who are embodied in the images of mothers and protectors. At the top there is the inscription UKRAINE in a semicircle; to the left of the legend are stylized patterns of Ukrainian embroidery, the denomination of the coin is 10 and the graphic symbol of the hryvnia; to the right of the inscription is the small coat of arms of Ukraine, decorated with stylized patterns of Ukrainian embroidery, and the year of issue of the coin – 2023.

Reverse: a composition symbolizing the femininity of Ukrainian female defenders: on the left – stylized waves of braided female hair, symbolizing the accumulation of vitality; on the right is the outline of a female figure in a plakhta (traditional Ukrainian wrap skirt), symbolizing the birth of femininity.
