Silver coin 100 shillings Somalia 2023 – Leopard
€42.00 includes 22% VAT
The sixth coin from the “African Wildlife” series featuring the Somali leopard.
The leopard is the second animal to be featured in the African Wildlife series and, like the elephant coin, it is gaining popularity every year among both investors and collectors. The first year of issue of the leopard was 2018, and the design of the reverse of this bullion coin changes every year. There is always a leopard in the design, but it is depicted in various scenes and may also include several leopards. Changes in design make the year of manufacture unique.
The leopard is one of five living species of the genus Panthera. It has pale yellowish to dark golden fur with dark spots. The leopard has the largest distribution of all wild cats, widespread in Africa, the Caucasus and Asia, although populations are declining. The leopard is a frequently used motif in heraldry.
Obverse: A leopard slowing down as it stalks its next victim across the grassy tundra. The image shows sharp teeth, a muscular body and an elegantly curled tail.
Reverse: coat of arms of Somalia.
