La Diablesse (“The Devil Woman”) is a vampiric spirit that appears as a beautiful female vampire with a large hat and a fan. She wanders along quiet roads in the form of a woman in a long flowing dress, hiding one leg, which ends in a cloven hoof. Any man La Diablesse meets, she will try to charm and then cast a spell on him. Legend has it that she was born a human, but her dealings with the devil turned her into a demon.
