Silver Coin $2 Samoa 2023 – Kung Fu Panda

The coin is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the animated film “Kung Fu Panda”.
Kung Fu Panda is an American media franchise that began in 2008 with the release of the animated feature film of the same name produced by DreamWorks Animation. The story follows the adventures of the famous Po Ping, a giant panda who was incredibly chosen as the prophesied Dragon Warrior and became a kung fu master. The franchise is set in a fantasy version of ancient China populated by anthropomorphic animals. Although his status is initially in doubt, Po proves his worth as he strives to fulfill his destiny.
The franchise’s first two feature films were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, as well as numerous Annie Awards, and its first television series won 11 Emmy Awards. The first three films were critical and commercial successes, and the second film became the biggest worldwide box office success for a film directed solely by a woman (Jennifer Yuh Nelson). On August 12, 2022, DreamWorks Animation officially confirmed that Kung Fu Panda 4 is in production and will be released on March 8, 2024.
