Silver coin 25 euro Austria 2022 – Extraterrestrial Life
€90.00 includes 22% VAT
The telescope is depicted in the silver outer ring on the obverse of the coin next to the famous Drake Equation, the purpose of which is to calculate the probability of extraterrestrial life. The purple niobium core is dominated by an alien who holds the earth in his hands like a toy, symbolizing that we may well be defenseless against them if they exist.
The niobium core of the coin’s reverse features some of the factors that could contribute to life on other planets: carbon dioxide, methane, oxygen, vegetation and water. On the outer silver ring, the telescope captured an exoplanet passing in front of a star.
The coin is part of the famous “Niobium” series dedicated to the global technological path.
