€29.00 includes 22% VAT
Fritillaria davisii is a perennial plant of the lily family. Fritillaries have bright, bell-shaped flowers, and many species are cultivated as ornamental plants. The genus name comes from the Latin fritillus, meaning dice box, and refers to the checkered pattern on the flowers of some species of fritillary. Fritillaria davisii was discovered by the famous British botanist Peter H. Davis in 1940 near the village of Pyrgos Diru, Mani. It has also been found in other areas of the Mani region of the Southern Peloponnese. Locals call it “anguraki” (small cucumber).
