Silver coin 5 euro Latvia 2024 – Childhood Joy
€79.00 includes 22% VAT
The coin is dedicated to the literary legacy of the writer Plūdons (1874–1940). The coin’s design includes the children’s poems “The Dwarves and the Old Man of the Forest” (1913) and “The Bunny Bathhouse” (1915). In her interpretation of the first poem, artist Anna Vaivare depicts forest gnomes frolicking in the first snow. The second poem depicts bunnies bathing in a bathhouse. While both poems immerse us in a world of gnomes, bunnies and other forest creatures, the poet develops narratives about children and their encounters with nature and traditions. The work captures the carefree nature of childhood and the splendor of Latvian nature.
