“ Eglė, Queen of Serpents ” (in Lithuanian Eglė žalčių karalienė) is a Lithuanian folk tale. It is considered one of the oldest in Lithuanian and Baltic folklore. The tale tells the story of a girl who becomes the queen of snakes by marrying their ruler, as well as the fate of her family after this event.
