€45.00 includes 22% VAT
This is the eighth coin in a series issued by the Scottsdale Mint for the Republic of the Congo Silverback Gorilla.
These massive apes live in the forests of Central Africa and are known for their strength, intelligence and imposing size. The silverback gorilla gets its name from the silvery fur that runs down its back and sides. The silverback gorilla is the largest member of the ape family. Adults can weigh up to 180 kg and stand on their hind legs almost 2 meters in height. But despite their imposing size, gorillas are actually gentle giants for the most part. They are shy and reserved animals that spend most of their time eating vegetation and resting in trees.
The obverse features a silver gorilla. It is surrounded by plants typical for the jungle. The weight, purity of the metal and the year of issue are also indicated.
The reverse of the coin features the coat of arms of the Republic of the Congo and the denomination.
