Hello Kitty is a fictional character created by Yuko Shimizu who has been the subject of books, cartoons, and has appeared in many products aimed at little girls, such as toys and jewelry. Her character was created in 1974 by the Japanese stationery and souvenir company Sanrio, where Hello Kitty appeared on a small coin purse. At the time, the character was still unnamed, but as a result of the product’s popularity, Sanrio gave her the name Hello Kitty in 1975.
According to her backstory, she lives in the suburbs of London with her family and is close to her twin sister Mimmi.
This figurine coin celebrates Hello Kitty, one of the most unique and interesting pop characters ever created. The heart represents Hello Kitty’s values: happiness and kindness, inclusivity and simplicity.
