Silver coin Estonia 2004 – Flag of Estonia

On November 21, 1918, the Provisional Government of Estonia proclaimed the blue-black-and-white banner the national flag of Estonia. The blue-black-and-white flag was the first to be raised from the Pikk Herman Tower of the Toompea Fortress in Tallinn. On June 22, 1922, Parliament passed the National Flag Law.
To commemorate the 120th anniversary of the dedication of the blue-black-and-white flag in Otepää and Estonia’s accession to the European Union, President of the Republic Arnold Ruutel declared 2004 the Year of the Estonian Flag. On April 14, the Estonian Parliament proclaimed June 4 as National Flag Day.
