The Australian Lunar Series coin series, first issued in 1996 and now in its third round, depicts 12 animals from the ancient lunar calendar. The annual drawings of the mouse, bull, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig are depicted in sequence according to the position they took in the Emperor’s Great Race.
