Pirelli tires are widely used in auto and motorsports. From 1950 to 1991 the company was present in Formula 1. Since 2008, the World Rally Championship has had a monopoly on Pirelli tires. Since 2011, the company has been the sole official tire supplier for the Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3 World Championships. In 2005, the Pirelli football stadium was built in England.
