Each coin consists of 3 components: an outer ring, an inner copper-nickel alloy disk, and a blue colored light-conducting polymer ring. Edge inscription: BLAUER PLANET ERDE. Reverse: center – outlines of the Earth’s continents, on the outer ring – images of the planets of the solar system. The obverse of the coin depicts a German eagle, year of issue, denomination, country name and 12 stars of the European Union.
