4.00

Handball is a 7-on-7 team sport played with a ball. It is played primarily with the hands (the rules also allow for the use of the head, torso, or hips). The goal is to score as many shots as possible into the opponent’s goal. The game consists of two 30-minute halves, with a 10-minute break between halves. Modern handball emerged at the turn of the 20th century (c. 1898–1900) in Denmark, Germany, and Sweden as a winter alternative to football, played with the hands.
