5€ France 2026 – Animals of the World: Birds

Animals hold a special place in our imagination, evoking admiration, respect, and curiosity, reminding us of the beauty and diversity of nature. In 2026, the Monnaie de Paris will present a new series, “Animals of the World,” consisting of six coins dedicated to iconic representatives of the planet’s fauna, each symbolizing the richness and biodiversity of the Earth.

The third coin in the series is dedicated to birds, featuring a variety of species. The parrot, ostrich, and hummingbird illustrate the contrast of species, from vibrant tropical birds to large and small birds that play an important role in nature.

Obverse: depicts three representatives of the avian world—a parrot, an ostrich, and a hummingbird. The composition is complemented by a wreath with symbols characteristic of the depicted animals, creating a unique “family portrait.”
Reverse: branches of laurel and oak.
