Animals hold a special place in our imagination, evoking admiration, respect, and curiosity, reminding us of the beauty and diversity of nature. In 2026, the Monnaie de Paris will present a new series, “Animals of the World,” consisting of six coins dedicated to iconic representatives of the planet’s fauna, each symbolizing the richness and biodiversity of the Earth.

The sixth coin in the series is dedicated to the animals of the savannah. The elephant, rhinoceros, and giraffe are among the most recognizable inhabitants of the African savannah. Majestic, powerful, and unique, these animals are striking in their diversity and play a vital role in maintaining environmental balance.

Obverse: Three representatives of the savannah fauna are depicted: an elephant, a rhinoceros, and a giraffe. The composition is complemented by a wreath with symbols characteristic of the animals depicted, creating a unique “family portrait.”
