In the 1/4 euro coin series “Chinese calendar”, a new animal appears every year. 2023 is dedicated to the rabbit. An image of a rabbit surrounded by plum blossoms, a popular symbol in Chinese history, art, and lanterns. The inscription “Year of the Rabbit” and the date of the year are located in the center of the coin.
On the reverse side, all the animals of the Chinese zodiac are childishly drawn around the Yin and Yang symbol. From 2018 to 2029 – the full cycle of the Chinese zodiac. Each of these twelve years has an animal from this calendar. The denomination of the coin is visible in the center of the coin, as well as the “RF” symbol.
