1 kroon Estonia 1999 – 130th anniversary of the first Song Festival

The coin commemorates the 130th anniversary of the first Estonian Song Festival, held in Tartu in 1869. This event is one of Estonia’s most important cultural traditions, uniting people through choral singing and preserving the Estonian language, musical heritage, and cultural identity.

The obverse of the coin shows the denomination and depicts the Song Pavilion of the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. The reverse features the year of issue and an image of a swallow, one of Estonia’s national symbols. The design of the coin card also complements the theme of the issue.
