The Anatolian leopard is a rare subspecies of the pronghorn leopard that inhabits the mountainous regions of Turkey, mainly in Anatolia. This animal is a true symbol of the region’s wildlife, but for a long time was considered almost extinct. The last recorded hunt for them dates back to the 1970s. However, since the early 2000s, evidence has begun to emerge that a small population still exists.

The crescent moon and star at the top of the coin are symbols of Turkey. On the left are ears of wheat, symbolizing agriculture. On the right is a laurel branch, the traditional symbol of peace and victory.
