The 55th anniversary of man’s first flight into space was celebrated on the 12th of
April , 2016. On this day in 1961, Yuri Gagarin, aboard the Vostok spacecraft, completed the first orbital flight, which lasted 108 minutes, ushering in the era of manned spaceflight. The event became a triumph of Soviet science and technology.
