2 euro Finland 2026 – Raili and Reima Pietilä BU (pair of coincards)
€23.00 includes 24% VAT
The coin is dedicated to Reima and Raili Pietilä, a married couple of Finnish architects who greatly influenced the development of modern architecture in the country. Their style was distinguished by unusual organic forms and a close connection with nature. Among their most famous works are the Kaleva Church and the Metso Library in Tampere, the Finnish Embassy in New Delhi, and the official residence of the President of Finland, Mäntyniemi, in Helsinki.
The coin depicts the façade of Dipoli, one of Reim and Raili Pietilä’s most famous works. Completed in 1966, the student center building in Otaniemi is a prime example of their distinctive organic approach to architecture: its expressive forms evoke the natural landscape and deliberately depart from the strict geometric principles of modernism.
