2 euro Italy 2023 – 100 years of the Italian Air Force PROOF

The Italian Mint presents the design of a new 2 euro coin dedicated to the centenary of the creation of the Italian Air Force, founded in 1923. The national side of the coin features a logo designed by the staff of AERONAUTICA MILITARE to celebrate the centenary. The illustration shows a large stylized “100” crossed by a runway with a vintage aircraft, an innovative propeller-driven biplane in the lower left corner, and a modern fighter jet in the upper right corner. A semicircular line at the right edge of the image links the two elements with the dates 1923 and 2023.
