2 euro Luxembourg 2019 – 100th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Duchess Charlotte (Bridge mintmark)
€25.00
After legal heir Adolf succeeded King Willem III in 1890 and was succeeded by Willem IV in 1905, a change in the law allowed a woman to inherit the throne. Willem IV was succeeded by Grand Duchess Adelaide, who was in poor health and was advised to renounce the throne in 1919. She was succeeded by her sister Charlotte, who was Grand Duchess for 45 years from 1919 to 1964.
The coin is noteworthy in that it has the marks of the Dutch mint on either side of the year of issue: on the left is the bridge (mark of the engraver Stephan Satijn), on the right is the Caduceus.
