2 euro San Marino 2014 – 500th anniversary of the death of Donato Bramante

The coin features a framed image of a section of the Tempietto church in the courtyard of the monastery of San Pietro in Montorio in Rome and a portrait of Donato Bramante, published by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge as part of its “Gallery of Portraits” in the 1830s. On the left is the year of Bramante’s death, “1514,” and on the right is the year the coin was issued, “2014.”
