Antonio Canova (1757-1822) – Italian sculptor, representative of neoclassicism in Western European culture. Known for his marble sculptures. Among his most famous works are Perseus with the head of Medusa, Cupid and Psyche, the Three Graces, Venus the Victorious, Apollo, Mary Magdalene and others.
The coin is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the death of Antonio Canova. The coin depicts a sculpture of the goddess Ebe, a work that Canova created between 1796 and 1817 in 4 copies, which are now kept in Berlin, St. Petersburg, Chatsworth and Forli.
