The coin depicts the ruins of the Skorba temple complex, located in the north-west of Malta. Also nearby is a terracotta figurine discovered in Skorba.

The coin is notable for the fact that it has the marks of the Paris mint on each side of the year of issue: on the left is a cornucopia, on the right is the pentagon of the engraver Yves Sampo.
