Rudolf Maister (1874, Austria-Hungary – 1934, Yugoslavia) was a Slovenian general, poet, and an active participant in the Slovenian liberation struggle against the Austrian Republic. His courageous actions after the end of World War I made a decisive contribution to the security of Slovenian territories, which is why he is still honored as a national hero.
