5 euro 2022 Finland – Ice Hockey World Championship

In May 2022, Finland will host the Men’s Ice Hockey World Championship for the ninth time. A Finnish commemorative coin dedicated to the competition will be issued on the opening day of the tournament on 13 May 2022. Ice hockey is the most popular sport in Finland.

The reverse depicts a hockey game: the immortalized rink, players and a full auditorium attest to its popularity. Along the edge is the inscription SUOMI FINLAND and the denomination of 5 euros.

The obverse depicts 5 hockey sticks and a puck. Along the edge are the abbreviations MM and VM (World Championships in Finnish and Swedish), year 2022 and the designer’s initial “M”.
