5 Euro Germany 2026 – Exploring Space: Ariane 6

The coin opens a new series, “Exploring Space”, dedicated to spaceflight. Five coins with partially colored images will be issued in 2026-2028. The first issue is dedicated to the Ariane 6 launch vehicle, whose primary purpose is to deliver commercial and government cargo, spacecraft, and satellites into space.

The obverse of the coin depicts the technical diagrams of two versions of the Ariane 6 rocket, as well as the rocket itself against the backdrop of the Earth and its orbital trajectories. A color image of the Earth highlights the rocket’s silhouette and adds visual interest to the composition. The reverse side of the coin features the German Federal Eagle, along with the denomination and year of issue.
