This is the second coin in the Star Wars series dedicated to iconic vehicles. TIE Fighter is a fantastic space fighter in the Star Wars universe. Powered by twin ion engines, TIE Fighters are depicted as fast but fragile fighters manufactured by a fictional corporation for the Galactic Empire. TIE Fighters and other TIE ships appear in all films of the original Star Wars trilogy. Sound effects designer Ben Burt created the TIE fighter’s distinctive sound effect by combining the sounds of an elephant trumpeting with a car driving on wet asphalt.
