Stegosaurus is a genus of Late Jurassic herbivorous dinosaurs that existed 155-145 million years ago. Thanks to the spines on the tail and the bony plates on the back, they are one of the most recognizable dinosaurs. Fossils of this genus have been found in the western United States and Portugal. Stegosaurus was approximately 7.5 meters long and weighed about 5 tons. Despite its size, Stegosaurus had a very small brain, about the size of a plum.
