Coin set – Bosnia and Herzegovina
€10.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina uses a currency called the convertible mark (abbreviated BAM). 1 convertible mark equals 100 fenings.
All names derive from the German mark and pfennig respectively, to which the currency was originally pegged at a 1:1 ratio. After Germany’s switch to the euro, the pegging ratio was changed to a euro-equivalent ratio of 1.95583 marks to 1 euro. The convertible stamp was introduced in 1998 under the 1995 Dayton Accords, which ended the civil war.
The set consists of 7 coins: 5 marks, 2 marks, 1 mark, 50 fenings, 20 fenings, 10 fenings, 5 fenings. The years of issue of the coins may vary.
Design:
5 and 2 marks: dove of peace
1 mark: coat of arms of Bosnia and Herzegovina
