Colored Coin 2 Euro Latvia 2025 – Selija Region

The “Selia Region” collectible colored coin is dedicated to one of the five historical regions of the Latvian people. Selia has been mentioned in historical sources as early as the 13th century, but it was only in 2021, with its official inclusion in the Law on Historical Regions of Latvia, that Selia was designated as a separate cultural and historical region. The flag and coat of arms of Selia were approved in 2023.

The obverse of the coin depicts the region’s coat of arms – a silver deer on a red background, symbolizing the distinctiveness and cultural identity of this region.

The coloring of the coin was made by a private company. This product is not an official bank issue and is not a legal tender.
