Liepaja is a city of contrasts, where the sun and the wind live not in contradiction, but in harmony. Liepaja residents always stand out – quietly, but noticeably. From the narrow cabin of a fishing boat to the majestic churches and modern buildings, the city is embodied in the image of a coin. The wind, like a street musician, plays on weather vanes and penetrates souls.

On the obverse of the coin is the image of the indomitable Wind raging over the roofs of Liepaja. In the background are the city’s iconic symbols: the port, a fishing boat, the Liepaja Amber concert hall, the Oskars Kalpaks Bridge, church spires and city buildings. On the left, in a semicircle, is the inscription “5 euro”, on the right – “LIEPĀJA 400” in two lines.

The reverse side depicts the Sun – a woman calmly bathing in the sea, her hair shimmering in the water like sunbeams. In the upper left corner is the year of issue “2025”, in a semicircle at the bottom left is “LATVIJA”.
